I have been hearing and reading some good press on the VoIP world. VoIP stands for Voice over Internet Protocol. This is a phone service which operates using your high-speed Internet connection.
Supposedly, people who have purchased this service are saving around $50 each month on their phone bills. From what it shows, services are averaging from $15 - $30. That sounds pretty amazing especially since the equipment is often provided free of charge by the service provider.
There has been some hesitation but this sounds like something that could definitely help a budget come up out of a recession.
Darral... This sounds great, however, in South Africa where I live, Internet connectivity is ridiculously expensive. Uncapped Wireless connectivity can reach as little as R600.00 per month, i.e. about $90. This is the cheapest one & the service is not good.
So, all in all, I think you Americans have got it good.
