How Many Recruits & Customers Do You Need To Earn The Income You Desire??

Hello Friends,

By Michael Dlouhy, My Good Friend and Mentor

How can you set an income goal when you have no idea how many people you need on your team?

I ask people that question all the time, and most of the time, I get a blank look. They don't have a clue. They've never figured it out

But the fact is, every income goal set by any rep with any company requires a certain number of recruits. What is that number in YOUR company?

If you don't know the answer, you don't have a prayer of achieving any income goal.

I asked a guy this question recently, and he said, " Oh, I need 5,000 people to make $10,000 a month."

I told him that was a very quick answer. How did he know it?

'Well, we make a dollar a bottle. And everybody goes on a 2-bottle autoship, so I;ll need 5,000 people to make $10,000 a month.

How does this play in the REAL world? First of all, 5,000 people..you KNOW not everybody will be on 2 bottles of autoship. Not everybody will be on autoship at all. So you'll need way more than 5,000 people in the plan. How realistic is that?

But you've got to know those numbers.

Lots of people set income goals, but there's no reality to it, because they don't go that next step to figure out exactly how many people it will take in their organization to meet those goals.

They don't know if they need 1.000 2,000, 5,000, 10,000, 100,000....
they just don't know. Once you know the formula, you can apply it to any goal you want. You can have a $1,000 a week goal or a $5,000 a week goal. You just need to understand what type of group you want to build.

Hi Luther,

You're right that most people don't know their number. This also applies to Internet marketing lists. You hear various numbers bantered about, but it's generally accepted that each person on your list is worth $1/month. So, if you want to make $10,000/month from your IM business, you had better have 10,000 people on your list. Actually, you should probably have 5% more than that because people will unsubscribe.

I take the approach that you must set your targets at least 25% higher than what you think you really need. That way, you keep up with attrition rates and actually grow, rather than just maintain, your income levels.

Of course, it's all about the numbers: traffic to your site; prospects on your calling list.

Cheers!

Hey Luther,

You bring up a great point in regards to the importance of knowing what it will take to reach your goals. It's interesting that people set goals, but don't take it to the next level, which is to identify what it will take to reach their goals. You have provided people with something very important to think about, so that their goals are more attainable. You bring up such an interesting point, people have to realize that with so many different programs available at different price points, therefore the quantity will vary depending on the program.

Ken also brings up a good point about recognizing that you have to account for people that unsubscribe. With that said, it's important to have consistent traffic to your website

Hello Luther,

My company teaches that specific method in our online training and our weekly business owner training. Being reminded of the numbers is an important aspect of our success. Without knowing the numbers, what are you working towards? We have a number of benefits with reaching certain numbers. There are bonuses with reaching certain numbers. We get promoted by reaching certain numbers. So you see, in our business we can't help but to know the numbers to get the bonus and the promotion and the benefits.

I do know that there are those who fall into a category of not knowing the number, realistically. I am taught in another of my part time efforts that I must add 10% to my number in the event that I fall short. But some dont even know the basic number to even add the 10%. If they are basing their income on a number or goal that they have to reach, how can they not know what they have to do to get where they want to be.

Thanks for the reminder, I now need to get on our weekly training webinar, so I can see how close I am to my number!

Best Regards,
