When should you let your dream go?

I agree with you--faith and not fear. When I kept writing on my novel for ten years, people thought I was crazy. I went on to win the "Best New Author Award." People also thought was crazy when I w...

JUST MY SIDE OF MY STORY

Hi and thanks for stopping by my page!

One of the coolest things I love about belonging to social networks like this one is that I get to meet so many great people.

Working from home like I do I don't get that much of a chance to meet new people like I once did so I want you to know I really appreciate you dropping by!

So let me share a little about who I am and then maybe you'll post a comment below and tell me about yourself.

First off my name is Marti and I'm the widow of the former mayor of a mid-sized urban city in California. For 12 years we made it our life's work to elevate our city and help its less fortunate. We worked side by side tirelessly tackling often heart breaking problems that seemed larger than either of us. But through sheer persistence, God's grace and our love for one another we made an impact on the peoples lives we fought for.

It's something I will be proud of for the rest of my life.

It wasn't long that word got out about our successes and mayors from other cities began contacting us looking for help conquering the woes of their own constituents. In fact our home was decorated with the keys to countless cities for the help we gave them.

I'm proud of that as well.

But all that changed after I lost my husband to cancer.

You know a day doesn't go by in which I don't think about him and miss him terribly. Sometimes my lonliness for him just seems so big that I feel I won't be able to go on anymore without him. But on those bad days I remember what he said to me before he passed on. He simply told me to "See it through, Marti."

So I set out to seeing my life's work through. It's not always easy but what in life worth accomplishing is?

Now I am happy to say that I am a published author who absolutely loves writing.

It wasn't easy at first though. In fact my first novel took me ten years to complete!

Now I my life's work is helping other authors get going in the business of writing for a living. I do it because I have run into so many writers who absolutely struggle getting their book projects off the ground. So not being one to turn away a soul in need I help others "see it through" with their own writing projects.

If you're a writer yourself who just can't seem to get going with your book I would be more than happy to help you in anyway that I can. Just pop me a message and we can set up a time to chat about it. If you're not I would still love to be your friend. Maybe there is something else I could help you with.

There you have it. That's the readers digest version of who I am. Why not take the time and post a comment below and tell me a little bit about who you are. I would love to learn more about you!

Until next time!Delete Comment No comments yet! Profile InformationEdit

MAJOR WAYS TO PROMOTE YOUR BOOK--with little or no money.

MAJOR WAYS TO PROMOTE YOUR BOOK~
with little or no money

Think like your reader. Most writers on the subject of promotion will give you the “method” of promotion, but they don’t give you the reasons behind it. Yet, reasoning is what the reader does all the time. Think like a reader, as it’s the most important part. Consider why you’re doing what I suggest, or you will not find unique ways of promotion. Go and sell bulk to nonprofits, gift stores, chamber of Commerce, churches. Give them a hal… Continue

Submitting to Publishers and Agents

Be the Publisher’s Pet—Your Mainstream Writing future begins with an editor, the first step to becoming a bestseller. It makes no difference whether it’s done through self-publishing or a traditional publisher. If you’re self-published, by all means don’t stint on the editor. If you’re going traditional, you had better not hold back that option.

Sacrifice to pay someone to edit for you, unless you have a friend with a degree in English, Creative Writing or something like that. Just make sure sh… Continue
